Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe assassinated in JapanShinzo was shot and fatally injured while delivering a speech in NaraPolice have arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of shooting Shinzo

Webmatron Comments:

Responses from Japanese people are relatively sparse other than to say that it is wrong to assassinate politicians. Other Asian people I follow are quick to caution others because he was a right wing politician who fueled the hatefulness of right wing extremists in Japan and elsewhere. Other right wing politicians are watching. The relative silence though, says more than any comment that could be made.

I will respect my LGBTQIA+ and non hateful Japanese friends and associates, join their thoughtful and measured response, and refrain from saying more than that the assassin was wrong to murder someone.
